This is card #22, "LA GRANDE VITESSE" in my drawing series inspired by the beating heart of Grand Rapids, Michigan. This drawing is done in the style of Pamela Colman Smith, illustrator of the Rider-Waite-Colman deck. It is based on a photograph of Alexander Calder's stabile sculpture found on experiencegr.com and is a hallmark of the city. I love visiting the sculpture and getting lost in its red-orange glow. The border includes architectural motifs and the Channel 13 Weatherball. The card represents breaking free of earthly bonds and sending your dreams to the stars. Prints are matte finish and do not come with a frame. Choose from 8x10" (20.3x25.4cm) or 11x14" (28x35.5cm).
